Departed Bay Area wee hours, arrive Tuolumne around 8:30, hit trail at 10. Arrive Cathedral Lake by 3. Pitched camp, explored. Found our way to the overlooks below. Made cell call to Brian from here.

Saturday, 8/3
Day 2, a mile or two out from camp, now at the upper Cathedral Lake with Cathedral rock above. The saddle to right goes to Budd Lake. Feeling peppy. Around 9500 feet. We'll cap out at 10,000 along the trail a few hours later. Next big altitude gain will be climb to 9900 at Cloud's Rest.
Sunday, 9/1
Awaken at Sunrise Lake, hike 7 miles to Cloud's Rest. View below looks north back towards Tressider Peak. Tenaya Lake left. 9900'. Ultra-vertigo. Make call to Brian again.
Monday, 9/2
Wake up in Little Yosemite Valley campground (not unlike sleeping at the Port Authority bus station in New York). Hike to valley via horse trail. Knees not up for Mist Trail. In Valley by ten. Showers and pizza by noon.
